NATO & Its Policies in ASIA Conference

The World Futures Online (an on-line Political Islam portal) in collaboration wiith Future Global Network Foundation (FGN) will be organizing a conference on NATO & Its Policies in Asia at the Sime Darby Convention Centre (SDCC), Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday the 5th of May 2009.

The aim of the conference is to create awareness about the consequences of NATO’s transformation as a ‘Global’ army, and the possible unfoldment of ‘Global’ warfare in the long run. Such warfare will affect not only the Muslim world, including the Muslim nations in Asia, but also the entire globe. Needless to say, the consequences will be dire, far reaching and insurmountable.

NATO has become a powerful tool of aggrandizement that seeks to perpetuate itself despite its anachronistic military presence. It has chosen to act in tandem with the policies of the imperialistic world guided by US security and military doctrines. The Muslim world, and countries such as Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, Southern Philippines and including Malaysia, have become potential target or outright victims of Western hegemonic designs.

The organizers of the Conference feel compelled to send a powerful message to the world, that all conflicts can only be resolved through peaceful and non-violent means. War is a harbringer of death, pain and miseries. They are not always
conducted on the legal platform, but rather with pre-emptive strikes and invasions as now practiced by western forces, including the NATO.

This Conference, the first of such kind to be held in Malaysia, brings to bear issues of globalization and the supreme need for peace and tranquillity in the Muslim world.

Five speakers, including two from overseas have been invited to speak at the conference to be attended by at least 150 invited guests including diplomats, NGO activists and academicians.

It is confirmed that at least 20 Embassies will be sending their representatives, including at least 7 Ambassadors will be present. The USA, Russia, Japan and India will be sending their Defence Attache’s and or a representative to the conference.
